Behind The Scenes of a Successful Launch: What Worked + What Didn’t
She hit her launch goal but this is what she learned...
Hellooo friends 🤍
You know I’m all about sharing the real behind-the-scenes of running a business, so in this email, I’m breaking down a recent launch from one of my amazing clients.
She hit her launch goal and walked away with so many valuable insights that I had to share. She’s kindly allowed me to break it all down (without disclosing sales figures) — what worked, what didn’t, and most importantly, what she’s testing next. Let’s dive in!
Real Case Study
The Launch Overview
Offer: Personal Style Mastery – a 6-week personal style program
Pre-Launch Period: 3.5 weeks (March 20 – April 13)
Launch Phases:
Waitlist Launch: April 14–21 with a 40% discount
Public Launch: April 21–30 with a 20% early bird discount
Result: Hit her enrollment goal!
The Deeper Learnings
Sales Were Driven by Conversations
66% of participants enrolled after a sales call. This makes sense — since it was her first official launch, people likely had questions before making the investment. The remaining 34% enrolled directly through her email communications without needing a call, which shows the power of a well-written sales email!
Testing a Waitlist Strategy
About 5% of her email list signed up for the waitlist, giving her a smaller, warmer segment to focus her launch efforts on. This also helped identify her most engaged leads. She did experience a 7% unsubscribe rate during the launch (she emailed three times a week: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday). While that might feel discouraging, it’s completely normal — especially when you’re introducing more direct sales content for the first time. And honestly? If people leave when you start selling (in a value-driven way!), you’re simply making space for those who are aligned.
Instagram Didn’t Convert (But There’s a Catch)
Even though Instagram is her biggest platform, it didn’t generate any direct leads. That said, her clients may still be followers who were ultimately converted through email. Moving forward, I recommend sharing even more behind-the-scenes of the program and client results to better nurture her community and create more buying readiness there.
Future Learnings
Longer Warm-Up Period
This is a big one for everyone launching right now. With all the noise in the market, buyers are more cautious and take longer to make decisions. You need to bake in more time to build trust, provide value, and position your offer before you pitch.
Extend the Waitlist Nurture Sequence
Adding more nurture content specifically for waitlist subscribers will help deepen relationships and increase conversion rates when it’s time to launch.
Experiment with Low-Ticket Conversion Tactics
She’s planning to test a paid workshop as an entry point next time. Not only does this qualify serious leads, but she can also apply the workshop fee as a credit toward the full program for those who decide to enroll.
I’m so proud of my client for achieving her goal on her very first launch 🥂
If you’ve ever launched anything before, you know how much time, energy, and mindset work it takes! Now she’s working with dream clients who are fully aligned — honestly, that’s the dream outcome.

Podcasts to Help You Grow
Confessions of a Conscious CEO
I’m officially back on the airwaves!! The first episode — How I Pivoted My Career & Business (And What You Can Learn From It) — dropped this past Wednesday, and you can now watch it on Spotify or listen on Apple Podcasts.
It feels so good to be back behind the mic and I’d love to hear what you think! Feel free to DM me with your thoughts or any topics you’d love me to cover 🤍
Learn from the CEO of Rhode
Did you know Hailey Bieber is reportedly shopping Rhode Beauty for a potential $1B sale? What she’s built is seriously impressive — and part of that is thanks to hiring Nick Vlahos as CEO. (He also previously helped Jessica Alba take The Honest Company public)
If you’re building a D2C brand, I highly recommend this candid interview he did on The Glossy Podcast. He doesn’t sugarcoat anything (he even breaks down why The Honest Company’s stock struggled post-IPO) and shares valuable lessons for anyone scaling a brand.
Real Self-Care…
Sustainable success can only happen if you take care of yourself. Self-care is not selfish — it’s necessary. Here are some self-care tools to recharge and stay balanced this week... ⬇️
Self-Care Challenge: Say “no” to one thing this week that doesn’t align with your goals or capacity. (And don’t feel bad about saying no!)
Journal Prompt: Where in my life or business am I making things harder than they need to be?
Andd that’s it for this week! I’m going to recap my life-changing trip to the Middle East next week and I can’t wait for you to read it. Have a great week 🤍
